A fej körül lévő indukciós tekercsek elektromágneses teret hoznak létre, amelynek hatására áram folyik a szájban lévő tekercsekben. Mivel az indukált áram a távolság négyzetével arányos, ebből kiszámolható a szenzor helye az adott térben. A hallgató feladata, hogy az MTA-ELTE Lingvális Artikuláció Kutatócsoport (Lendület pályázat, http://lingart.elte.hu) eszközeit felhasználva részt vegyen EMA felvételeken és a többcsatornás adatok feldolgozását segítse. Javasolt programozási nyelvek: Python / Octave / Matlab.
Electromagnetic articulography (EMA) is a method of measuring the position of parts of the mouth. EMA uses sensor coils placed on the tongue and other parts of the mouth to measure their position and movement over time during speech and swallowing. Induction coils around the head produce an electromagnetic field that creates, or induces, a current in the sensors in the mouth. Because the current induced is inversely proportional to the cube of the distance, a computer is able to analyse the current produced and determine the sensor coil's location in space. The task of the student is to take part in the recording of EMA data using the equipment of the MTA-ELTE Lingual Articulation Research Group (Momemtum grant, http://lingart.elte.hu/en), and process the recorded multichannel dataset. Suggested programming languages: Python / Octave / Matlab.
