Research and Tematic Laboratory |
Its essence is:
The student choose an individual project topic plus a corresponding
advisor at the beginning of the semester. During the semester the
student works individually (maybe in small teams) under the close
supervision of the advisor. At the end of the semesters the student
has to hand-in a written report and has to give an oral presentation
with electronic slide show. Further details are given in the Hungarian
language version, please click on the flag at the upper right corner
of the page!
Yes, with the permission of the advisor. However, it is required that
the individual contribution of the particular student has to be
assessable from the reports/presentation.
Each student has to tackle all usual engineering tasks: task
evaluation, researching, planning, implementation, testing and documentation.

We do not offer such courses regularly in English. However, it is
almost certain that such projects can be organized should the need
arise. Please, use the "remarks" links at the end of the page for
intial contact. Further details are given in the Hungarian
language version, please click on the flag at the upper right corner
of the page!
- Browse the actual project announcements. These are available from
the Hungarian version of this page under the links to the
corresponding laboratory courses. Consult personally with the
advisor(s) of your most favourite projects.
-
If you have got an agreement, then fulfill all compulsory
administrative and other duties announced on the homepage of the course.
- Last, but not least start to work...
It should be a project with perspective, ideally extensible up to a
Masters' thesis project
Query your advisor about the nature of the work needed! Do not be
fooled by topic titles such as "Investigating the wonderful world of
Internet"! It might turn out that it is a rather theoretic project with tons of
queueing theory and Markov chains! It is unwise to realize this only
at the end of the semester!
If you plan to do gradual studies (PhD), then hold in mind that you
will need to show "initial publication results" during the admission
exams for PhD studies. Look after projects, where the advisor
indicate the possibility of taking part in publishable scientific work.
